Immutable repository

Veeam Cloud Connect backup,
stored immutably in Vancouver.

Add your Veeam server to our hardened repository. Month-to-month, no contract.

For businesses and IT firms that run Veeam and want an immutable second copy away from their own network.

For Your Business

Secure Offsite Backup Without Building Cloud Infrastructure

Add our cloud repository to your Veeam console. Your backups leave your building and are stored in Vancouver, BC.

Immutable during the retention period

Backups are held on a Linux hardened repository. While the immutability period runs, backup files cannot be changed or deleted, including by ransomware, a compromised Veeam server or stolen logins. Because of the lock, data can stay on our storage a little past your retention setting. Jobs sent to us use scheduled full backups, and we keep at least two full backups in each chain.

Stored in Vancouver, BC

Your backups are stored in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on hardware we own and operate.

Encrypted in transit, and at rest with Veeam encryption

Data travels over an encrypted connection. Turn on Veeam backup encryption and your data is also encrypted on our storage, with a password only you hold. We will help you switch it on.

Your own Veeam server

You need a Veeam Backup & Replication server on a paid licence (the free Community Edition does not support Cloud Connect). We provide the offsite repository. Not licensed yet? Ask us about a Veeam rental licence.

Simple monthly pricing.

Month-to-month, no contract. Save when you choose a yearly term. Ask for a written quote based on your backup size.

Restoring your data

How a restore works

Restore using your own Veeam Backup & Replication server: back to your original servers, to new hardware, or to another platform Veeam supports. Your backups stay in standard Veeam format. In an emergency, the operator helps by phone, 24/7.

Restore time depends on how much data you have and your internet connection. We will estimate it for your setup in writing. This is backup and recovery, not a disaster recovery service: your backups and our cloud are in the same Vancouver datacentre.

How It Works

What Is Veeam Cloud Connect?

If you run Veeam Backup and Replication on-premises, Cloud Connect is how you get your backups offsite without building your own cloud infrastructure.

You add Mighty Blue Cloud as a cloud repository inside your existing Veeam console. Your backup jobs point to it. That is the entire integration — no new software and no agent to install.

Our cloud repository runs on a Veeam Hardened Repository, a Linux-based immutable storage target. While the immutability period runs, backup files cannot be changed or deleted, so ransomware or a compromised Veeam server cannot reach them.

Step by step

How a backup reaches us, and stays safe

01

Your Veeam runs the job

Your own Veeam Backup & Replication server backs up your servers as it does today.

02

A copy goes offsite

A backup copy job sends the data over an encrypted connection to our repository in Vancouver.

03

The repository locks it

Our Linux hardened repository makes the backup files immutable for the immutability period.

04

You restore when needed

Restore with your own Veeam from the copy, with the operator on the phone if it is an emergency.

The 3-2-1 rule

Three copies of your data, on two kinds of storage, with one copy offsite. Your production data and your local Veeam backups cover the first two. Our repository is the offsite copy.

Many teams now add a fourth point: one copy that is immutable or offline. That is what the hardened repository is for.

Why a hardened repository is different

  • It is a Linux system, not a Windows share an attacker can browse.
  • XFS immutability stops backup files being changed or deleted until the period ends.
  • Single-use credentials mean there is no standing admin login to steal.
  • It sits apart from your network and from your Veeam server.

Getting started

What to expect in your first month

Before you start

A free health check of your current Veeam setup, then a written quote based on your backup size.

Setup

We send you your Cloud Connect details. You add us as a repository in your Veeam console and point a job at it.

After the first jobs

We watch the first jobs with you. Then we agree your retention and immutability period, and you decide when to run a test restore.

Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) partner

We are a Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) partner, so the repository runs on Veeam's own Cloud Connect service.
