Founding offer: a free Backup Health Check for our first 10 requests.
Request yoursWhy a second copy matters
Ransomware goes after your backups first.
Attackers know a company with working backups does not need to pay. So they look for the backup server, the backup storage and the backup admin login before they encrypt anything else. A copy that lives on your own network can be encrypted along with everything else.
A typical attack path
- 1An attacker gets in through a stolen password or an unpatched system.
- 2They find the Veeam server and its stored credentials.
- 3They delete or encrypt the backups held on your own network.
- 4They encrypt your servers, with nothing left to restore from.
With a second, immutable copy
- 1Your jobs copy to our hardened repository in Vancouver.
- 2The repository is a Linux system with XFS immutability and single-use credentials. It is separate from your network and your Veeam server.
- 3While the immutability period runs, backup files cannot be changed or deleted, even with your admin logins.
- 4You restore from that copy with your own Veeam.
A quick check on your own backups
- Is there a copy outside your building and outside your network?
- Is that copy locked so it cannot be deleted for a set period?
- Is the Veeam server patched, and is its admin login protected?
- Have you restored something from the copy recently?
Not sure about one of these? A free health check covers all four.
What you get
Veeam-native backup, held immutably.
Veeam Cloud Connect
Backup from your existing Veeam Backup & Replication, with no new software.
Immutable storage
Backups are held on a Linux hardened repository and cannot be changed or deleted while the immutability period runs.
Standard Veeam backups
You can restore them with your own Veeam software.
Optional managed service
For clients in the Lower Mainland, our managed-IT team can look after your Veeam jobs and restore tests under a managed IT agreement.
Restoring your data
Restore with your own Veeam server.
Restore to your own servers or to new hardware. Your backups stay in standard Veeam format. In an emergency, you call the operator.
Restore time depends on how much data you have and your internet connection. This is backup and recovery, not disaster recovery: your backups and our cloud are in the same Vancouver datacentre.
Who it is for
Businesses and IT firms in BC that already run Veeam.
You want a copy away from your own network, and you want to talk to the person who runs the platform.
- Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) partner.
- Hardware we own, in a professional Vancouver datacentre.
- Immutable repository, held in Vancouver.
- Operating since 2016.

Example scenarios
Who uses an offsite immutable copy.
Illustrative examples of how organisations in BC typically use it, not client stories.
A construction or real estate firm
Project files and accounting on a few virtual machines, backed up nightly with Veeam. A copy goes to Vancouver so a ransomware event at the office does not take the backups with it.
A professional services office
Client files and email archives that cannot be rebuilt. The owner wants a copy that nobody in the office, or an attacker with their login, can delete.
A non-profit with a small IT budget
Veeam already runs on a modest server. They want an offsite copy at a predictable monthly cost, with no contract, and a person to call.

Common questions
Backup FAQ
A backup that cannot be changed or deleted until its immutability period ends, even by ransomware or a compromised Veeam server.
Yes. Your own Veeam Backup & Replication server needs a paid licence to use Cloud Connect, since the free Community Edition does not support it. The offsite repository on our side is included in your subscription. Not licensed yet? Ask us about a Veeam rental licence. If you do not run Veeam yet, our Veeam Setup service can install and configure it for you.
In Vancouver, BC, on hardware we own, in a professional datacentre.
No. Your backups and our cloud are in the same Vancouver datacentre. This is backup and recovery, not a disaster recovery service. A second copy in another location is planned but not available yet.
We do not publish recovery times. Restore time depends on how much data you have and your internet connection, and we can estimate it for your setup in writing.
No. Billing is month to month. A yearly term is available at a lower rate.
The repository is monitored, and the operator is on call 24/7 for emergencies. Mighty Blue Cloud is run by one operator today, and a support team is planned as we add clients.
Not formally today. If your contract requires specific certifications, tell us up front and we will be straight with you about whether we fit.
You add Mighty Blue Cloud as a Cloud Connect repository in your Veeam console and point a job or backup copy job at it. Data travels over an encrypted connection to our repository in Vancouver.
Yes. Turn on Veeam backup encryption and your data is also encrypted on our storage, with a password only you hold. We will help you switch it on.
Not while the immutability period runs. That is the point of the lock. Because of it, data can stay on our storage a little past your retention setting.
Billing is month to month. Your data stays in standard Veeam formats, and exports are available at the extra cost of the USB storage.
Yes, as Veeam Cloud Connect for MSPs. You bill your clients and we bill you monthly, with no contract.
